Remington XP Fireball 221

I PURCHASED ONE OF THESE MANY YEARS AGO, I THINK AROUND 1969, ONLY A FEW YEARS AFTER THEY FIRST CAME OUT.  THE UNIVERSAL GRIP WAS NICE AND I MOUNTED A 1.5 PUMA PISTOL SCOPE ON THE IT.  IT WAS AN ODD CALIBER, 221 AND THAT WAS ONE THING THAT ORIGINALLY ATTRACTED ME TO IT.  TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT AFTER MOUNTING THE SCOPE I MUST HAVE FIRED ABOUT 40 ROUNDS IN IT AT A TARGET SOME 20 YDS AWAY.  NEVER COULD GET THE DAMN THING ZEROED IN AND SHORTLY AFTER GOT RID OF IT. LOOKING BACK I PROBABLY DID A POOR JOB ON MOUNTING THE SCOPE---I WAS YOUNG IN THOSE DAYS AND THOUGHT I KNEW EVERYTHING.  ALL REPORTS I GET ON THIS PISTOL ARE GOOD. WISH I HAD KEPT IT.  BY THE WAS, AS BEST I REMEMBER THE COST ON THAT PISTOL BACK THEN WAS A TAD LESS THAN $100 NEW.

My local Merchant of Death has one in 6.5BR. It IS a thought, but he definitely wants more than $100!
